Martín is a perfect example of Spanish mastiff, breed commonly used to look after cattle.
They can be extremely affectionate and adapt well to home life provided they have been treated well or properly rehabilitated.
They are super chilled dogs whose love can be... invasive! A mastiff (or a mastiff cross) can weigh up to 100kgs!
We have selected these particular cousins of Martín's because they are mastiff crosses which are very difficult to give in adoption as no one wants them. Nonetheless, his black and grey cousin is a bundle of love and is desperate to be with people.
The female, on the other hand, is a bit more reserved, but once you gain her trust, she is very affectionate too.
Mastiff crosses are a big issue in this country as their number is high due to the fact they are rarely neutered (mainly in rural areas) and due to the lack of awareness about the importance of sterilisation.
By adopting Martín's cousins virtually you are helping us take care of them but also helping us to carry on our work to try to fix this problem in Spain.
